Egyptian Literature

#2 [Question] In the expert from the book of the dead, how would you describe the tone, or attitude, of Nu's speech? How does the tone relate to the situation described in the text?
[Answer] The speech is very focued, he seems to have his mind set to it, the tone relates to this situation in the text because they are talking about before death, and he is saying how he wants to stay the samr when he dies like his body would stay the same.

#3 [Question] In "Adoration of the Disk", why does the speaker think that Ra should be praised?
[Answer] The speaker thinks that Ra should be praised because hes the reason there is life on earth. When he sets at night there becomes , but when he is there, there is life, so ra is the reason there is life.

#4 [Question] In "Im going downstream..." why does the speaker delight in dreaming of herself standing like a bride beside her love?
[Answer] I think shes just dreams that one day she will meet her true love and to someday become happily married.

#6 [Question] (Comparing Texts) Which of the selections gave you the strongest sense of the speaker as a person? Explain your answer.
[Answer] The "Im going downstream on kingswater canal was the strongest speaker to me because it made the most sense ar first, and you could picture whats going on?

#7 [Question] (Comparing Texts) In both "Im going downstream on kingswater canal" and "Whenever i leave you, i go out of breath", a female speaker addresses her absent beloved. What are some ways in which the the poems differ?
[Answer] In whenever i leave you, i go out of breath the speaker is wondering if death is as lonely as she is, she still has the same love with him, as before he died its just harder, while in the poem "Im going downstream on kingswater canal" she just wants to find love, happiness, and get married.

#8 [Question] (Connect to life) Their literature and art show that the ancient Egyptians both appreciated everyday life and prepared extensively for death. How do their attitudes compare with those of your society?
[Answer] Their attitudes compare with those of our society because most do appericate everyday life. Bit I dont think many people prepare for death now days.
